* M2 PCIe SSD and M2 SATA SSD are M2 SSDs that use the same connector but different electrical interface. The M2 PCIe SSD communicates via PCIe BUS and the data throughput depends on the speed of the M2 media and the PCIe BUS. A 4-Lane PCIe 1.0 slot has a maximum speed limit of 10 Gbps whereas a 4-Lane PCIe 3.0 slot supports a maximum speed of 40 Gbps.
The M2 SATA SSD communicates via SATA port. The maximum speed depends on the M2 media and the connecting SATA port, which ranges from 1.5 Gbps for SATA 1.0 port to 6 Gbps for SATA 3.0 port.
